As of late, I have tried my hardest to lower my carbon footprint and use products that harm our beautiful planet as little as possible. I am always on the lookout for new brands that help me do this so was thrilled to hear the announcement about new beauty brand launch Fiils.

Their products are made from over 75% pure plant extracts meaning less usage of water unlike a lot of other formulas and instead of being filled with synthetic fragrances are naturally scented with essential oils, with three yummy scents to choose from; coconut, pomelo and lemongrass. You currently have a choice of organic, naturally formulated shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash, all of which come delivered in refillable pouches. You simply fill up your bottles, which come in three colours: rose gold, silver and copper and once your pouches are empty, just send them back in the recycling bag sent with your first order.

According to founder Anna Priadka “The Fiils refillable model reduces our customers’ carbon footprint by over 30% per year (compared to a standard single-use beauty model)…we’ve been able to reduce single-use plastic by over 80%!”. After working in the beauty industry herself for over 15 years, she noticed how saturated the industry was becoming due to an explosion of indie brands hitting the market as well as already established companies launching more products to stay relevant. She grew tired of watching the detrimental effect this industry was having on the environment, mainly the excessive packaging waste and unhealthy ingredients. That’s why she wanted to create a planet-first brand that helps its consumers live a more sustainable lifestyle without having to compromise. Switching from your normal routine to a more eco friendly way of living is made simple with brands such as these, meaning doing your bit doesn’t feel like such a big ask and more of us can do it. If more of us do just that little bit more, it could really make a world of difference.
